Paying or being paid? Check the UPI ID or QR first
Free tool · runs in your browser
Paste a UPI ID, or the text your QR code contains (it starts with upi://). We look for the tricks used in refund and receive-money scams.
Never enter your UPI PIN to receive money. The PIN is only for sending. If anyone asks you to scan, approve or enter a PIN to get money, it is a scam.
Three rules for UPI
- You enter your PIN only when YOU are sending money. Never to receive, claim, or get a refund.
- A QR code always pays the person or shop who owns it. It cannot bring money in to you.
- Check the name on your app before you tap Pay, and pause if someone is rushing you.
